Field Test | 25–150mm LWIR Continuous Zoom Lens – High-Definition Performance Visualized

11 Feb,2026

We recently conducted a real-world field test of our 25–150mm long-wave infrared (LWIR) continuous zoom lens. From wide-area scanning to long-range tracking, this lens—covering the 8–12μm LWIR band and maintaining a constant F#1.4 aperture throughout the zoom range—delivered outstanding results in actual outdoor environments.

The released field test video captures the lens’s imaging performance across various outdoor scenes and zoom magnifications. Set against urban architecture and natural landscapes, it fully demonstrates the real-world capabilities of the 25–150mm F1.4 HD uncooled LWIR continuous zoom lens, with a focus on three core advantages that make technical excellence visible and tangible. Throughout the video, the zoom operation is smooth and stable—from wide-area surveillance at the 25mm wide-angle end to fine detail capture at the 150mm telephoto end. The imagery remains consistently sharp and clear, perfectly embodying the product’s hallmark of "crisp imaging across the entire zoom range." In addition, image brightness remains uniform from center to edge, with no vignetting, ensuring high-definition output even under complex lighting conditions.

Covering the 8–12μm spectral band and maintaining an F#1.4 aperture throughout, the 25–150mm LWIR continuous zoom lens is optimized for 1280×1024/12μm detectors. It offers a wide field of view of 34.15° × 27.61° at the 25mm wide-angle end and a narrow FOV of 5.86° × 4.69° at the 150mm telephoto end. The zoom process is continuous and jitter-free, enabling seamless transitions between macro search and long-range tracking without the need for refocusing. With a total optical length of just 150.54mm, the lens achieves high-definition imaging across all focal lengths within a compact structure. Anti-reflective coating on the front surface and customizable DLC (diamond-like carbon) coating ensure both high transmittance and field durability.

The complete unit weighs ≤1740g and measures Ф130mm × 141mm. It supports a wide operating temperature range from –40°C to +60°C and meets IP67 protection standards, making it resistant to sand, dust, rain, fog, and extreme temperature variations. The focus range covers from 1.2m to infinity, allowing flexible deployment in UAV gimbals, vehicle-mounted optronic pods, and remote fixed surveillance systems—ideal for 24/7 intelligence gathering and security inspection missions under all-terrain conditions.

Going forward, we will continue to release more field performance demonstrations on a regular basis, maintaining our focus on high-end optical technologies. By increasing R&D investment and accelerating technology transfer, we aim to bring to market an expanding portfolio of competitive optical products in the infrared, visible light, and laser domains. Through real-scenario testing and technical insights, we will continue to demonstrate our strengths and deliver superior full-spectrum optical solutions to customers worldwide—empowering high-tech sectors with optical advancements and intelligent transformation.
